IRC 2018

The First edition of the Indian Rover Challenge was held at The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore Campus. Then event organised by Creation Labs,VIT was started as an Initiative to grow the Rover Design Community in India and its Neighbouring countries.  20 teams had registered for the event, out of which 8 teams participated in the final event which was organised with the Team Indus as one of the main partners. The competition started of with an inauguration ceremony were speakers from Team Indus and renowned theoretical physicist, Abhas Mitra shared their insights on space robotics and astrophysics. The teams competed for a total of 750 points which was split across various tasks i.e. CDR Package, Maintenance Task, Science Task , Assistance task, Surprise Task and final Presentation. After 3 gruelling days of competing,  Mars Rover Manipal from Manipal Academy of Higher Education emerged victorious. Team LU_Darbar and BRACU Mongol Tori from bangladesh finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
