Mars Society South Asia takes great pleasure in hosting Indian Rover Design Challenge 2020. This completely online challenge is intended to bring out the imaginative brains of the Rover design student teams where they have to conceptualize the future Mars missions.
IRDC 2020 is a unique platform for the students to design Mars Rovers which shall be fully equipped and mission ready for Operation on Mars. Teams are supposed to carefully plan each subsystem of the Rover taking into account the various parameters like Martian atmosphere, communication and terrain challenges it poses. The teams are encouraged to bring out futuristic designs and concepts while ensuring that the technology they propose is realistic and within practical implementable limits of today’s human race. The exclusion of any type of budget and resource constraints allows teams to think out of the box.
